reflective-equilibrium-method
Artur describes this as his personal method. He gives the example of NDEs: some people reject them because they don't fit their materialist worldview, but he chooses to explore them because they might be true. He admits that it's difficult to maintain balance, and that emotions can interfere. He references John Rawls as the originator of the term. This method is essentially a systematic way to achieve cognitive consistency.
Cognitive coherence; the mind seeks consistency, and this method leverages that drive to refine beliefs.
He says he uses it, and compares it to feeling when to shift gears in a car.
This convinces me first of all because it is very coherent. For example, one thing follows from another and finds confirmation in my own experiences, so I think coherence, well, this is exactly what is called reflective equilibrium in the literature.
